Kind of impossible to figure out how good this wine is now. Dense, dense, dense with bramble and dark fruit. Tannic, a little closed but with incredible density and depth.

Definitely in the newer style, this barrel-heavy Barolo was showing as soon as 15 minutes after opening, and made for very tasty drinking, though perhaps without some of the delicate qualities usually found in this grape, and missing signature qualities like rose petal, mint, tobacco, and tar. Potpourri, secondary barrel notes, pepper, and kirsch dominate.

Another fine tasting chestnut at the 2012 Barolo event with Jancis Robinson. This was a bit of a brooding beast, but clearly a masterful wine. Great stuffing, should be sensational in another decade or so.
