Decanted from a magnum, the dark ruby '00 Pahlmeyer Merlot had lovely aromas of black cherry, tobacco, graphite and chocolate. The wine, however, seemed less intense than previous vintages I've tasted. Nothing really lacking, but not worth the price point.
