This is a new wine by the Nicolas-Jay duo. A selective pick of Own-Rooted vines from three vineyards-Hyland, Nysa, and Bishop Creek. They isolated the pick, vinification, and barrel time. Some of the vines go back to 1972. I thought three things after tasting this wine... ”That’s some pure textured fruit in the glass”, “Man...I wonder how many cases are they going to keep for the house library”, and “Yeah, these guys know what they are doing”.

This is seriously good stuff. Own rooted pinots from Nicolas-Jay. Vines are 30 years old. Floral and Spicy, ethereal, dense but elegant, with velvety tannins. Excellent now and no rush, drink or hold. Enthusiastically recommended !

Medium color, smoky, peppermint, cranberry aroma, small sweet notes aromatically. Round, soft edged wine on entry, acids build with tannins tightening in mid pallet then carry and carry, no sharpness, brisk but balanced for so young-needs some time but could be something special
