Dense purple. Butter, raspberry, menthol and prune notes in nose. Mixed berries in mouth, slightly tart, hottish on finish with lots of fine-grain tannins, red berry, menthol and, with time, black cherry, plum and black licorice aftertaste. Good varietal character, worth decanting. Old school Zin fans take heart as it smells and tastes like a Zin should.
