Very different and more defined vintage. 90% Syrah, 4% Carignan, 2% Cinsault , 2% Grenache, 1% Tinta Barocca, 1% Mouvedre .. Whole lot of wine and a nicely balanced dry finish yet fruit-forward start.

Wonderful little tanginess to this drinkable red.

Venturing into the Syrah arena and this South African definitely hits the spot!

Takes about 30 minutes to open up. Subtle nose, but complex. It’s light, but with plenty of acidity, making it a great food wine. Fruit profile is 70% tart cherries, 30% maraschino cherries. Unexpectedly impressed.

I have had decent experiences with this producer in the past, but unfortunately this was a watered down, structure-less bottle. You’d definitely never guess this was 90% Syrah. Pass on this one - for this vintage at least.

Had it at Theodore Rex, Houston. I don’t know how to describe this wine other than unusual. Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it. It was ok.
