One of the very few Tuscans I reliably enjoy...love the high toned, exuberant cherry and hibiscus tinged with fresh herbs. A fresh, aromatic and lively take on Sangiovese. A “Super Tuscan” that is actually worthy of the title. Maybe I should give the rest of the region more of a chance...*thinks*...naahhhh

Brimming with confidence, doesn't need a label. You know what this is. It's stalwart Sangio - true to its core, to the estate, to the cuvee, sophisticated and deep. Barely stick your nose in and you're hit hard with a mixed bag of the stuff you expect and more - cherries and leather, mint and spruce, dates, raisins. Minerals and a scaffolded structure you gotta work through just a bit, but comes together amazingly well.

2014ビンテージということもあって、アルコール度数12.5%と軽やか。
旨味と酸味。決して重奏的ではないが、芯の通った旨味が素晴らしい。

The most elegant wine we enjoyed over the evening. A small percentage of Canaiolo & Colorino accent the pure, crystalline Sangiovese. Weightless on the palate, tart cherries from the nose to the finish. Fresh acid & silky tannins. Great wine.

Ultra reserved and elegant until about 2 hours in, then $h1+ got real. Osso buco is the ticket here.

Nov 11th, 2017Nervy, taut acid. Nose is lovely, but '14 vintage + youth delivers structure that's as complete as an awkward teenager. I personally like the nerve, but not sure if the '14s will ever hit that Montevertine sweet spot
