Magnum from Erika. Deep garnet color. After open for one hour, slight dried fruit. Licorice, mint, hint of green peppercorn and chocolate. Lighter than other vintages, with a little tannin structure. Sourness in the front of the mouth. After 2 hours it really opened up with yummy sun dried tomatoes. 2 hours minimum for these wines!

Opening this 2000 Merus from a magnum, was initially worried that it might be past its Prime from tasting notes. Lovely black fruits, hints of anise, chocolate, & currant on the nose. On the palate, lovely rich dark fruit with silken tannins, this wine is ready for dinner
