A pricey Cab. Deep ruby with aromas of blue and black fruits. Wine was open for over an hour but and had a harsh quality. On the palate blackberry and blueberry flavors, full body, tight firm harsh dusty tannins and about medium length finish ending with mineral tones. Ok, but lacks complexity, which was not evident. Many other gems at this price point. Pass on this one. Tasting Sample.

Don’t let the label scare you off. Great wine by a great winemaker.

Ripe red fruits, Christmas spices, eucalyptus, with nice youthful tannins.

I wasn't going to comment on this because it's my 6th bottle, but it's different for me this time. Last bottle was 3 months ago.

Blueberry is now front and center with a beets bend to it. Still some red fruit in there, but it's stewing down, or something like that. Philippe Melka is becoming one of my favorite winemakers.

Needs a lot time to open up, like at least an hour. Then it's a nice black fruit bomb, but well balanced and not too sweet.

Bought 6 bottles blind. Nice big fruit red fruit bomb. Perhaps a hint sweet initial attack. Slight piney aroma. Oddly I get a little citrus (orange) on the nose, which returns as grapefruit as a lingering after taste. Medium to full bodied. Tannins medium, a bit wet.

I would rate this a hair above Cuttings (Prisoner), about the same as Stags Leap Investor, and below Joseph Phelps. Definitely glad I bought it. Maybe should hold a couple of bottle to burn off that residual sugar.
