Meadowcroft Wines Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, Napa Valley, California

It is time for my
#FridayCabernetfix.

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong nose of red and black fruits with cedar, chocolates, vanilla, licorice, herbs, black pepper, light earth and mediterranean spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, cedar, blueberries, coffee, spices, chocolates, peppercorn, eucalyptus, light earth and herbs.

Long tangy finish with fine grained tannins and pomegranate syrup.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from stags Leap District. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. Elegant and interesting. Rich and fruit forward. complex and inviting.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. I gave it 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly.

Although very young, it is already showing a really complex nose, which is nice to see. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food, like barbecue meats.

A tiny production of only 2,000 bottles.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$70.
