I came across this Prosecco at Grand Cru Cellars on Beaufort St for about $20. And yes I bought it because of the label! It instantly reminded me of our visit to Venice a few years ago. The majority of Prosecco comes from close to Venice actually in the the Veneto region and also in the nearby Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
It's a pale yellow on the eye with a green tinge. The nose made me think of grapefruit and sliced pears with a touch of brioche. Crisp apple and pear dominate the palate with refreshing citrus acidity on the finish.
