M. Chapoutier
Tournon Victoria Shiraz
Victoria, Australia

Dark Ruby color with blue and black fruit aromas, spicy, slightly herbal/floral nose. The palate shows cherry, blueberry and blackberry fruit with pepper spice, lively acidity, firm tannins, all nicely balanced. Medium+ finish ending with the fruit still coming through with slight floral and smoky tobacco notes. Good now!

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Tart on the nose with raspberries, cranberries, strawberries, barnyard, metals, vegetables, spices, smoke, bell pepper, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cranberries, pomegranates, light vanilla, strawberries, peppercorn, green herbs, vegetables and spices.
Medium finish with soft tannins, tart cranberries and spices.
This spicy Australian Shiraz is a good food wine, but not fully balanced to drink by itself. Showing nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel, but is too tart for my taste.
Would benefit from a few years in the bottle. I let it open for an hour which didn't help much.
Aged for 12 months in stainless steel tanks and cement vats.
I paired it with light appetizers.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
83 points.
$15.
