Lorenzo Anfosso
Rossese di Dolceacqua

Prior notes from 6 months ago still seem accurate. Thanks to my brother for this delicious lighter red. It’s almost as though making a lighter, food-friendly, warm-weather friendly red is becoming a lost art. They won’t get the high critic points, but there are so many circumstances where this is what works, but so few choices in this category.

Very nice Rossese. This is one of the richer Rosseses I’ve had, but it’s still on the lighter side relative to most other reds. Nose has bright, tart red fruit, almonds, a floral note, a little crushed stone. Flavorful, but light-footed in the mouth. A little tannin and a grapefruit rind-like bitter note in the finish. I really like this.
