Spice, black fruit and a tiny bit of herbaceousness that makes the nose very interesting. Mushrooms and earthiness. M acid, body and tannin. This is a great food pairing wine.

Lovely Cabernet. A little sweet, but overall a great Cabernet. Powerful Cabernet, a little relentless in its grape flavor. Also, at $36, a great value.

Basic Cab. Smooth- mild tannin. Not a lot of depth. Not memorable.

This has more depth and substance than many in this range but lacks polish and comes across a bit gritty, missing all the best attributes of its vintage. That said, it feels very authentic and I think this wine kills it when paired with tacos carbon, and it's hard to compete with beer at such a table.
