The beautiful richness & complexity in this malt come partly from the small barrel maturation. A kaleidoscope of flavours, underpinned by peat & oak. Fantastic.

From the November Old Line Scotch Club meeting, this was a good Islay whisky with peat, smoke and brine. Good QPR. #laphroaigquartercask #whisky #oldlinescotchclub

Evergreen, grapefruit, gingerbread, green onion, cedar, band-aid, and a very clean, smoky peat bouquet! Ridiculously generous complexity on the palate, ranging from caramelized tea biscuit, to smoked, candied lemon peel, parsnip and gunpowder. Long, lingering finish.

Beautiful harmony of strong peat and oak. Certainly Islay smoke.

Experimenting with Islay, love the peat, especially as this one mellowed with the sherry cask. Bought it because Trevanian's hero in his book Eiger Sanction drank a lot of it and a skit have club member in Dawson, Yukon did so as well.
