Had a great party Friday night. This was the wine of the night. 1999 Lamborghini Campeone from Umbria! Sangiovese, Cabernet, and I think Merlot. But, I am not sure. But I wish I had more.

Atrium DUMBO. The 1998 Campoleone, is a blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Sangiovese. Just under 1,000 cases were produced. It is an impressive, exceptional effort. An opaque purple color is accompanied by knock-out aromas of new saddle leather, roasted espresso, chocolate, blackberries, and grilled steak. This rich, multilayered, full-bodied, moderately tannic wine is deep and serious.
