By far one of my favorite Pinot Noir's I've had. Wild cherry flavors and pomegranate compliment the very classic Oregon earthy style. Give way to mushroom/truffle and forest floor nuances. Tightly structured for a Pinot with significant tannins, leaving you with a long finish. Great wine!

Ok I am liking this Friday thing. Enjoying a nice wine after a full week of being hammered from all sides by contractors and management. What a way to relax enjoying what nature has given us and man has painted into a beautiful picture. I am pouring a first run 2012 LeCrema Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I didn't know until now that this is LeCrema's first vintage from the Willamette Valley. They have a new head winemaker at the reigns Elizabeth Grant Douglas. Douglas has been with LeCrema since 2001 as Enologist promoted in 2004 to Asst. Winemaker and the in 2011 promoted again to Head Winemaker overseeing all aspects of winemaking & production. In this their first vintage they are using grapes from several areas of the Willamette in the LeCrema style. That being said I feel this is more Californian than it is Oregonian. On the nose I get good fruit from strawberry, notes of violets, hints of cocoa and smoke that is ever present. At first sip on the palate I am getting expressions of sour cherry and pomegranate. There is a medium acidity, smooth tannins with a silky mouth feel. Not your typical Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. For a first vintage I think Elizabeth has done a good job with this Pinot.

V12. Drinking very well . Typical of La Crema- the wine is all about location and climate. Licorice, white pepper and soft smoke nose. Medium bodied blackberry fruit followed by a tart, dry flint and earthy finish .
