Aromas of dark fruits and spice. On the palate tart berry flavors overpowered by toasty spice and earthy notes and cola trying to show through, and ends there. Harsh drying tannins on medium finish. Not that enjoyable. Pass. Try the Penner-Ash Rubeo or Elouan Pinot Noir, similar price points for some better wines. Tasting Sample.

Tried an Willamette Valley Pinot tonight. This opens up with grassy notes and oddly like the old 1980’s McDonald’s cherry pie filling. If that makes sense. This is a nice light Pinot. I thought it had lighter cherry notes and a bit of earthiness that was pretty nice overall. This is a nice easy drinker. Not over complex or deep but enjoyable.

8.7/ (Total Wine $15) OK or better. More terroir than Davis Bynum. Would pair well with dishes on the heavier side, savory sauces.
