France goes through to the knock out round of the world cup - this calls for a little celebration! The nose is a tiny bit oxydative already with cooked apples, lemon, pear, a buttery note and some white flowers lingering in the back. This is a seriously complex nose. The palate is extremely well made with a massive acid backbone but with some width and weight. There is almost a thickness quality to the mouthfeel at first reminding that of a premier cru white burgundy in the côte de beaune. The difference is in the finish with is very fresh, vertical, made of lemony touches all through the end and which lasts for a good minute. This is great stuff!
