Decant a few hours. Not a soft wine. All about the structure, tannins, dark fruit.

Merry Christmas to us! This is lovely. Thanks to @JasonOliver for heads up on 4 hours of decant. I tried each hour and it was a very cool evolution. From closed, tight, and tannic, to elegant blackberry currant and tannic. Well balanced, lots of tannins. Will be good for a long time.

This is a tannic beast. One of the most tannic Venge wines I've had. It started softening a couple hours in but it was done by then. Give it 4 hrs air time or definitely let it age in bottle. 96+

Checking in on this on the eve of its 10th birthday 🎉. It’s been three years since we last tried and tannins still prominent, but not quite as aggressive as first two times. Three bottles left and I’m telling self not to touch for another three years. I can’t wait to have this wine when the tannins are mellowed. Another 10 years? The fruit is amazing and goes on forever.
Happy New Years all! I hope 2024 is the best yet.
