Reserva Serra do Mendro Branco

Deep brassy gold color. Nose has loads of yellow fruits and stony minerals (It’s a blend of 40% Antao Vaz, 30% Arinto, and 20% Alvariho grapes). Meadow flowers and a teensy bit of toastiness. In the mouth it’s ripe and deeply flavored, the fruit very low-toned. Tons of stony minerals. The texture is soft and broad. Acids are low-ish. Nice, lengthy finish. I don’t think this will age, but it’s really nice now.

I am not quite sure of the varietals in this blend. .  However, the fruit and the acidity is in near perfect harmony. A really nice tasting blanco from Portugal. 

Lovely floral and white peach aromas up front, quite fruity with oily texture and excellent acidity, depth and balance, very fine!!

White Portuguese (Alentejo) “non-cert organic; blend of three indigenous white varietals.” Interesting profile with tart front of green/ yellow citrus/ apple then surprising rich ripe apricot and big minerals. Per Wine Advocate, “blend of 30% Arinto, 40% Antão Vaz and 20% Alvarinho, with the rest Roupeiro.”

Michael had this a year ago
