Harlan Wines are always a treat. However, this bottle is way too young to truly appreciate. Black berries and cocoa w/ mild spice notes. Big Tannins!!

I uncorked this 100 pointer for my friends last night. It's everything you would expect from a Harlan. Balance, structure, purity and lets be honest..,,,shock value of "Oh my God, it's a Harlan".
to be honest., this ranked 3rd for me tonight. Ed Snider's 2012 "Guest Cottage" was the winner this evening. Don't get me wrong., we are splitting hairs trying to differentiate these amazing bottles. This just didn't have the "Oh my God" factor that Guest Cottage provided & it doesn't heart that I can buy 3 Guest Cottage's vs 1 Harlan!!!!! 😜.
A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ with the upside of being ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ with time.
I drank this and found myself tipping my hat to Ed for his continued "under the radar" mastery of blending red wines.

Slight note of honey before the first draw. Bold, but smooth and fully bodied. The flavor is immediately reminiscent of something twice it's age. It's difficult or impossible to oversaturate the flavor on the finish, it's very dry without being too dry.
