Syrah from just outside of Cornas. Not much granite, but it's much more open and pure at the moment than Gilles '10 Cornas.

Got gradually better over three hours until it was gone. Yum!
Slight note of pencil shavings or some such thing, which was more and more filled up by red fruit. A pleasure to smell, easy to drink. Long finish of fresh citrus and maybe licorice.
