Grosjean Frères
Vigne Tzeriat Vallee d'Aoste Pinot Noir
Valle d'Aosta, ItalyPale garnet, some bricking already. Overwhelmingly volatile and Bretty at first but comes together beautifully with air. Really remarkable transformation. Sour cherry, rhubarb, roses, ruby red grapefruit, herbal/vegetal notes, bitter slightly oxidative finish. Tart, sweet raspberry and floral tones increasingly predominated as the evening went on. Almost gave up on this one but I really enjoyed it—a reminder that some wines can really rebound if given a chance to breathe!
