First tango with this varietal. It’s light enough to be mistaken for a rose. Strawberries, cherries, rhubarb and rose petals emerge from the glass. On the palate it’s tangy, very floral and a little briny and stony, with a surprising amount of structure given how pale it is. Very interesting—I will say it’s not my favorite of the Grosjean lineup but that’s more about how much I love the producer.

So when my friend first brought me this and I was like gamay from Italy, I completely thought it wasn’t even going to be worthwhile. Boy was I wrong. The classic strawberry and light fruit with medium acid to provide structure. Deliciously intact with a short and sweet expression of the grape. I didn’t know it was possible but this wine definitely showcases its elegance.

Just lovely. Surprised to see a gamay from Aosta - did not disappoint! Berries, herbs, touch of spice. Complex, good finish. Definite repeat.
