Kind of reminds me of a Chinon. Smells herbaceous and has a green pepper finish. Cool ripe fruit with tight tannins, spicy notes but the smell is like overripe barnyard. Delicious.

Fruit and spices on the nose, dark and dense. Big jammy fruits but somewhat calmed down now. Mouth coating tannins and fruit extraction, but great aromas of blackberry, cassis, cream, vanilla, hints of leather. New world style but not over the top.

Dec 13, 2020. Patio wine visit w/ Carl & Gloria. 89% Cabernet, 10% Oetit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Decanted 1 hour which completely eliminated the musty/dirt finish on initial taste. Beautiful. BlackBerry, cassis, with cedar and earthy notes.
