Jun 19th, 2014Right on for a Morgon: cherry and earth (this one almost to kirsch and asphalt), with a fleshy juicy body. Inky violet red that's oranging out. Snarky acid and crazy chalky tannins, even after 6 years. I would hesitate to try a younger bottle. A dark side of sharp leather, rose and tar on the nose reminds me of Nebbiolo. Palate is all tart cherry rawness. I'm guessing this is one of the less refined expressions of this region. I couldn't say no to a 2009 French for $17, but I wouldn't buy again.
