This bottle was poured into a decanter about 30 minutes prior and served double-blind. It was subsequently enjoyed over the next several hours. The wine pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core. No staining of the tears and medium+ viscosity. On the nose, cherry, cranberry, red flowers, tar, and dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Called Langhe Nebbiolo from a warm vintage like 2012 or 2015. Close! I don’t have a lot of experience with this producer but it showed pretty well and considering it’s a 2009, it’s certainly holding up well. Drink now and over the next 5-10 years.
