Dark to darkbloodred, none transparent. Smells of basement, celler, dark fruit like Blackberry and plum. Air is helping the nose to open. The taste is first very silly, nothing like the smell that was darker. The more back in your mouth you take it the deeper and dryer the taste gets. Its a soft nice wine that I think would lift a lot with a pizza but with some air it goes very well with a candle a late night too
