Not as developed as the half bottle of Smaragd a few weeks ago. This is still lively, though again missing the snap of green notes or a lot of fruit. It is mostly mushy fruits and some savory earthy/mineral aromas and flavors. Texturally a bit oily and medium plus bodied with a bit of alc heat.

Pale to medium yellow. Nose offers stone dust, kumquat zest and orange fruit. Savory on the palate w additional vegetal tones blooming there, pretty distinctly NOT fruity at this point of development.

Linear Hirtzbirger, this is a tight Federspiel that drops a lot of Gruner character in beams of acidity. Notes of hay, sweet lemons, and stone minerality, complex and elegantly tense. #gruner #vacationresearch

Tight and cranky at first, served in a regular white wine glass. Switched to a burgundy glass, not as shy now! Juicy fruit, delicate spice, beautiful texture. Awesome

Very good wine but I might soon conclude that I'm not a Gruner proponent. For me, it's kind of a one-dimensional grape.
