Les Fontenelles Chenin Blanc

Smelled like pine needles and lemons. Tart on the palette with lemons and apricots. Very little of that honey you expect from this grape.

This 2015 was a gem. Oxidative is not the term to use for this wine. Apple and gasoline sorbet. Medium sexy body that sticks to the glass. Salud.

how! what! when! I was expecting another mediocre natural wine bottle.... but nooo... this is the shit! oxidative in a good way, with a lovely apple and cinnamon/spicy nose.. great body, balanced minerality, acidity and long finish... really top quality...

Popped it and it was not like the other bottles I've had. Apple cider vinegar. Uh-oh... However, with air it tightened up and that apple cider turned to underripe pear and quince. Minerality peaked as well. Horseradish. Intense tannins on the back of lips and back of gums. Bright but sappy mid-palate. I was going to say that this showed a bit flabbier than the other bottles, but I don't think so. Fun experience, but it requires some patience.
