Drank 12/15/18. Nice pairing with pizza.

Trader Joe's value wine at $7

Nose of red fruits with some mint anf pine, atypical for a Chianti classico. Flavors of sour red cherry, forest floor and tar. Medium tannins. Medium finish

3/20/7/3/3 +50 = 86.

Been a while since I’ve had a Chianti. Pretty average, held up nicely to penne with cream sauce. Good bitterness, like a nice Italian espresso.

This wine exceeded my expectations. For an $8 bottle from Trader Joe’s I set the bar low, but this wine surprisingly had some beautiful, fairly complex flavors. Cherry and plum are notes, with mice over lays of vanilla, nutmeg and some hazelnut. Nothing too over powering on the palate. For the price, it’s pretty darn good and would get better with age. Letting it breathe for a bit helped as well.

Tried with pizza...is search of an easy wine with pizza. Didn't love it. Great price but not worth it still.

Earthy with red berries and herbs. Better after breathing and paired with pizza.

A nice medium bouquet with notes of plum, raspberry and oak. Fruity with light to medium tannins. I enjoyed this with slices of Pecorino. Super price at Trader Joe’s. Incidentally TJ’s is a great source for vintages prior to 2015. I will repurchase. Bona petite!

This wine has some old world earth. It is somewhat dry with flavors of cranberries and herbs. It went well with the pasta and Italian sausage we had with it. For $6 per bottle at Trader Joe’s, keep a few on hand and you’ll always have a good wine to go with Italian food.
