I had a glass of this Thursday night and was slightly dissatisfied. It rested in the fridge for 48 hours and wow things changed! The color was dark with a pink rim. The nose was full of cooked macerated cherries and a savory herbs. The palate was fresh with bright lift (even two days later). The tannin attacked the mid-back palate. This wine will be extraordinary in a few more years.

I paid $10.49 for this in Texas. It is hard for me to imagine a better wine for that price. It is relatively light in body but extremely refined and flavorful. California, please (!), take note of what can be done for this price!

2012. Seems like more syrah than grenache.. bigger and spicier than CdR blend. Excellent.
