Nice wine, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Have had and enjoyed many bottles of basis / liaison, first time having one of their “grand crus”. Quite transparent. Lovely light red berry nose. A bit raspberry soda quality on the palate. There is some earthiness but not quite enough to stand up to a simple roast chicken with mushrooms cooked in the chicken fat. Opened 10 hours before drinking, no decant

Still the best - unbeatable. Especially the 2019. Beyond words.

Pop and pour, based on previous notes. Paired perfectly with Raclette. On the nose: soft rose, airy cranberry and pomegranate, a hint of VA, soft citrus peel, thyme. On the palate: fantastic acidity, cranberry, thyme, bark. but so lightweight and light bodied...nevertheless, grippy, velvety tannin on the finish. Very primary right now, but very elegant. Give this lots of time.

This comes across as ridiculous must drink now Pinot. Raspberry driven as the 2009. Definitely cut from the same cloth. The powerful tannins will carry this for 10’years but boy is this good right now. Cherry, Za’atar, lemon zest, orange juice, unlike any other Pinot on the Market. I am a fan but it is a wine for folks who know and appreciate E&M.

Obviously way too young. 14.1% quite high for E&M. Classic perfumed nose, Give it 45 min in a big glass. High toned raspberry, cranberry, hint bitter, touch white pepper, orange rind, oregano, lime. Classic E&M. Needs at least 5 years. So light and elegant on it’s feet. A superb Pinot in every aspect and a class in its own. Will be a 10 in the future. Bought at Mayfield Restaurant in San Juan de Capistrano at lunch.
