Deep Ruby in colour - impenetrable at the core, with a tawny rim developing. The classic tar and roses - also orange peel, earth and a note of menthol. Medium plus body and intensity on the palate with those same aromatics coming through on the palate - finishing with typical dry tannins. An excellent Barolo drinking well right now. Could go on for several more years. See previous note on August 2021.

Ruby red with a tawny rim. Aromas of menthol, mint, black and red fruits with a touch of licorice and tar. Similar notes on the medium to full bodied palate. Finishes with chalky, fine, drying tannins. This producer was one of the early adopters of using small French oak Barriques. This influence was noticeable 4 years ago in my first Delectable note on this wine but now it has all come together and in balance. Looking forward to trying the 3rd one in 2 or 3 years time.

Mid Crimson. Notes of cherry savouriness with a slight tar influence. Tastes more New World than old world with the use of French Barriques and ripe fruit. Finishes as always with dry tannins. A modern rendition of Barolo.
