From the newer viticultural area of Gundagai. Earthy minerality, spicy - some red fruits. Cool climate. Drinks to its price point. A little simple. I love cool climate Aussie Shiraz but this was nothing special.

Oct 2nd, 2015From the relatively newer wine region of Gundagai made by Eden Road who have won a Jimmy Watson trophy for their Canberra Syrah. This is a medium bodied cooler climate Shiraz with roast meat and black pepper notes. Lacking some mid palate fruit to be critical but a good effort. 17.-

Slugged this back a couple of weeks ago now and didn't pay too much attention to it really beyond structure and smash-ability. Dried figs and raisins behind a blanket of insanely fresh raspberries, violets, gravel, and old oak. It's a powerful wine disguised in medium body and super juicy nature. If you're in the mood, it's tops.
