Pretty tasty for an old thing. Probably not the best bottle example I've had, this one had a little seepage at some point. Good concentration and density nonetheless. Starting to go more tertiary, but there's still good fruit. Acid is nice. I would love another bottle and compare, so my rating is mostly for this specific bottle.

In great shape. Rich strong dried black fruit with savory liquorish... Still has plenty of time.

Medium-dark ruby purple color, redfruits, soft structure, nice balance, was never a blockbuster like the better vintages of Howell Mountain, but has consistently been a solid CA Cab in the context of the 1988 Napa vintage.
