Taking a look at TA for the '15 Champanel - opened this bottle of dry German Riesling to help with Potassium Carbonate calculations ;-)

Sipping Fine Wine

Clear straw yellow, vibrant fruit and oily nut aromas. Palate shows white flesh fruit flavors, apples & green grapes with a citrus tang. The wine shows zesty acidity, minerality, some floral spice, crisp and dry on the finish. Nice value. Tasting Sample.

Lemon peel, ruby red grapefruit, floral, petrol, peach and petrichor. High acid and good typicity.

Tart citrus and green apple. Plenty of acid. Really fresh and delicious.

Tasted both 2014v and 2015v side by side. Both have a nose of green apple and citrus. On the palette, tart lemon and lime stand out, with a little beeswax. Very crisp acidity; the 2014v was a little too sharp for my tastes but the 2015v felt more balanced. I'd give the 2015v another 0.1 point higher. Bone dry. 12% ABV. Overall, I prefer balance and complexity of the dry/off dry kabinett version by this producer (labeled "Riesling") to its "Dry Riesling."

A little on the sweet side for me. Would be nice on a hot sunny day in a park.

Love dry Rieslings and I love this brand. I would drink anything they produce. Love the dornfelder as well.

Dryish high acid but doesn't have any of that great fruit you'd root for with a Riesling
