Such low expectations that yield such amazing results. This isn't an expensive bottle and the nose gives off little but sour cherry and a touch of acetone, but then you taste it. Oh, you taste it.
Soft tannins, red flowers, baked cherry pie abound! From what I know of Dornfelder it tends to be highly acidic and yet it's so well made that the acidity fizzles on your tongue and fades gracefully into the background. I'm super impressed with my first foray into this wine.

Very nice fruit flavors and just the right amount of tannin. Went great with spicy gumbo!!
