Domaine Papagiannakos
Old Vines Markopoulo Savatiano

I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've had Savatiano, and each time is totally unique. This wine has a rich, deep golden hue. The nose instantly hits with almond, which brings Soave to mind. Then I smell tropical fruit (pineapple), honey, and white lilies.
The mouthfeel is round, if not a bit flabby. Not a complex palette, with flavors of peach and lemon. Despite other reviews, this wine is not crisp at all.
It's fairly unremarkable overall, and I would put it in the Trebbiano category. But, it is ice cold on a hot day.
Listening to Johnny Cash, so I got that going for me.

Easy to drink. Dry, but mimics sweetness because it's fruity. Is that honeydew melon or pear? Complex aroma. Very clean finish. Enjoyed with scallops and cauliflower puree - mild flavors paired well. 12.5%ABV
