First dinner with guests (2) since February. Doors open, hepa filters, masks, and we got tested first. Precautions were maybe over the top but both families are in contact with elderly people so we wanted to be careful. The wine delivered. Every guest commented on the unusual combination of being complex and light bodied - weightless, clean, mineral, complex.

Volnay perfume, floral, red fruit, but with a racy and mineral touch and silky texture. Just a touch of secondary characteristics. Still young. Magical.

Nose reminds of Italian black cherries from the jar, silky texture, full body, long sweet after taste...

This is a monster of a wine, not nearly close to primetime drinking, but really close to Volnay perfection. Thanks DD!

Gorgeously rich and broad with dark ripe blue and red fruit. Intense minerality, iron and meatiness. Young with exceptional fruit. Still fine tannins.

Amazing 1999 vintage. Lots of fruit and complexity.

Love the acidity and minerality. Could've gone 20 more years at least. 1999.
