Domaine Lafage
Tessellae Côtes du Roussillon Vieilles Vignes Grenache Blend

Big and powerful, decanted for 24 hours because it was immense and tight. Still could use some time, but drinkable now if you treat it right. Dark flavors, high acid, heavy body.
I’d like to have this with some cheese.

Lafage was recommended in Food and Wine magazine as a perennial go-to for wines. Tesseallae is the Latin word for mosaic. This delicious red has a blend of 40% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 15% Mourverdre and 5% Grenache Gris (a rare white grape.) The wine is aged for 12 months in concrete tanks and bottled unfiltered It’s round and velvety with a complex bouquet and flavors of strawberries, dark fruits laced with pretty floral and earth notes. Fruit flavors are lush and the finish is seamless. This beautiful wine has the ability to pair well with meats, charcuterie, lamb, duck, or rich stews. Robert Parker rates at 93 points. – Derek Brammer, Surdyk’s

Really nice bright and bell-peppery or green herbs. Maybe some dark fruit or wood, too. Can’t quite name the taste but it is distinguished.

Big and bold. Light on aroma, heavy on fruit upfront.

Kinda strange. Berries on the nose but no fruit anywhere in sight on the palette. Tastes dusty but with some heat. Not bad but not a great combo.
