Hermitage Syrah

A gorgeously meaty and tangy nose with dark fruit. Medium bodied and savory with depth of fruit and resumes. Dried herbs and a bloody base but supple and quite lean at the edges. Real character.

Hands down my favorite Syrah producer but this was an infant’s baby’s grandchild. Just not much going on right now.

Approachable now. Dark fruit, brambles and a bit of sour cherry. A complex and savory midpalate. Not as hefty as some, but real character. Long.

Magnum. 7 hours in a decanter and still a beast! Give me this "off vintage" any day! Dark fruit and tons of pepper.

Hauntingly complete in every way. This is special stuff

JL managed some plump fruit and a healthy 14% in what is largely considered a cooler vintage.

A treat! Producer over year.

Took a while to open, but once it did...floral, garrigue, pepper, red berries, good length and texture.
