Domaine Habrard (Laurent Habrard)
Crozes-Hermitage White Rhone Blend
Crozes-Hermitage, Northern Rhône, Rhône, France
Nice nose develops after a few minutes: pear, bitter honey, lanolin, very clean rocky minerality. Got that supersoft, slightly viscous texture I associate with Northern Rhone whites, but not heavy at all. Flavors are very pure, but slow to develop, kicking in after swallowing but then lingering tenaciously. Seems like now is the right time to drink this.

Such a clean nose. No fatness that can be so off-putting in N. Rhone whites. Honey, lemon, chamomile tea. Palate has terrific freshness and texture with a nice chewy density and exotic tropical fruits aligned with intense minerality. The Marsanne character shines through. Nice length. Very juicy.

Subtle nose has bitter honey, grainy pear, lanolin, a floral note, and some clean stony minerality. Rich and broad, with that low acid subwoofer white Rhone feel. But very pure and rich, again with that slight tinge of bitterness in the long finish.

Resin, pure, clean nose. Yellow fruits. Gorgeous and rich with a lacey texture. Love this.

A very complex white Rhône blend from a producer that wasn't so famous before Laurent assumed control of the vineyard from his parents. A rising star in Crozes-Hermitage, here he's crafted a Marsanne-Roussanne blend that's herbaceous, savory, and regal with notes of eucalyptus, sage, white flowers, smoke and bacon, to go with its peachy fruit and the barest hint of toffee. Skilled, young winemaking at its finest.

@Lyle Fass don't remember if I bought this from you, or directly from the Greek, but wow. This is a crozes in peak form. Lovely nose with soft honey and guava, lime and citrus flowers. On the palate, softer acidity than last time, but still juicy, with some nice citrus peel bitterness to back it up.
