Ripe Barthod....cooler terroir and clay content of Cras certainly helped mitigate heat from vintage. Delicious.

Powerhouse of a wine. A long distance runner only beginning to peak with secondary notes. Preserved red cherry, black licorice, truffle. Grippy tannin and showing raisination. Predictable but epic 03. Probably the heftiest wine I've had from Barthod, blind I could have put this in CDP, but it is freaking delicious regardless!

Un chambolle bien fait mais qui a eu chaud. Typique 2003. On se croirait plus en nouveau monde. Fruits noirs confits, prune. Assez dense. Ca pinotte pas beaucoup...

Representative of the difficult side of its vintage I presume. Not my style, but ok made.
