Day 2 of WineBoyz Wineapalooza. Reddish tawny color. Looks young still. Notes of red fruit, rhubarb, dark soil, macerated cherries. Chewy. Sweet perfume. Coats the mouth. Nice finish. I brought this and upon opening early in the morning, I was all smiles as this was singing and ready for business right away. Perhaps I left it in the decanter too long as this went quiet a bit and was not peacocking in the afternoon like it was in the morning. My rating reflects the early performance.

Light reddish tawny. Sweet Bing cherry nose. Also notes of raspberries, rhubarb, wet soil, sois bois, some kirsch and some spice. Ethereal and complex in the mouth. Rich and round. In a perfect place right now. No signs of this on any sort of decline yet. Burgundy at its absolute best... and as one of the boyz said tonight, "bottles like this... it's the pinnacle of Burgundy!" (Bday 7 of 13)

Bright cherry color core with tawny rims. Masculine nose. A bit closed at first. Notes of raspberries, briary wood, spice, rhubarb and some dark moist soil. Becomes a bit medicinal with air in a good way. Power grows with several hours of air. My last note was “massive”. Great bottle! (Bday dinner 7/13)

From a good looking bottle with a great fill. Ruby, almost opaque. Still looks young. Nose of cherry, spice, blueberry and a little dirt. Unbelievably rich in the mouth, yet well balanced. Fruit and structure are perfectly integrated. Long finish. Gave the wine 7+ hours of air and it started strong out of the gate and never let up.

From the Tour dArgent wine list. Wow. Wow. I've had this 4 times and 3 of those here in Paris. In the past it was good... Today it was great. Really. The Somm said he picked the best bottle in the cellar for me. I think he's truthful... The color is ruby purple with some bricking age and is mostly opaque. The aromatics in the nose are hard to describe. Amazing. Fruit. Dried flowers and candied something. Asian spice. In the mouth this explodes. I try not to expand on how good a wine is in fear the price goes up and everyone wants it. But in this case there is no risk. What was really good ~10 years ago is now amazing. Worth the price.
