Showing great sense of place, this is soil first- fruit second. Steely & chalky, with a good bit of funk on opening. As it warms, the fruit blooms and you see banana, clove, a bouquet of flowers and a touch of lemon. It's multi layered but not interwoven, and the heat rises as the wine warms. Grab a nice chunk of red hawk & this will shine.

Ripe Bartlett pear & banana comes out on the nose with time, but initially it is all mineral rich earth & blooming white flowers. The higher abv of Montagny shows, but is integrated well with a ripe apple, pear, and honeysuckle palate.
