Like a soft version of a good Burg. Maybe a little two dimensional?

Fresh, lively and full of life, the 2017 ‘Arthur’ Chardonnay is another fantastic effort from this storied Oregon estate. On the nose this takes on gooseberry and fresh herbs that mingle with baked apple and shades of Challah bread on this distinctive nose. The palate is both bright and plush, showing a soft texture and delivering copious orchard fruit flavors that dance with shades of cinnamon infused sourdough bread. A delight to savor in its youth, enjoy this over the next five plus years. Drink 2019-2025- 92

I’ll try to get through this entire caption without comparing this to Burgundy. All I’ll say is that this is entirely relatable to those who love Burgundy wines. It opens a bit shy, slowly develops aromatic depth in the glass and before you know it the layers, flavors and textures start weaving together to offer complexity one may not find in too many regions of the world. Again, I’m not going to be lazy and compare it to Burgundy. It’s a great bottle of wine from Oregon and is a shining example of everything possible there. Fantastic.

Dinner at Beachcomber in Clearwater 3/15/19 Phillies spring training. Indeed a French styled new world Chardonnay. Very balanced and good texture and paired well with seafood.
