Mystery wine - why is this wine marked “2012” in pen on the label? Why is it $25 despite almost a decade of age? Why is it good considering all of this?

Pours a purple bricked hue, a little brown showing that age. High pitched perfumes of spiced blueberries, plums, rose petal. Tart - sometime abrasive and sometimes just right. Settles score with a little bit of fat dried fruit - raisins and prunes.
