Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC)
Grands Échézeaux Pinot Noir

Honestly it can be really hard to separate the wine from the legend sometimes, but I often question why we would need to. admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of burgundy, and find overhype and inconsistency to be huge problems. This on the other hand tends to overcome both. DRC truly amazes me, in that everyone I've ever had actually Live up to the hype. Brilliant. Starting out slightly stewed and tomaty. After a few minutes being open, this wine put on fruit, spice, weight, texture and Depth. Absolutely brilliant bottle wine continue to develop and show its pedigree. An absolute pleasure to drink this with a great group of friends.
