simply stunning wine that led the field in a packed and stacked night. Vosne spice and a great finish that truly fanned out like a peacock's tail--all the DRC superlatives are appropriate with this bottle. Blew the 85 away, as it was surprisingly closed compared to 78.

This bottle showed a ullage of 3cm just like its matching brother. The color a ruby red and a nose of anise and raspberries. It still had a nice full taste. A great wine for spaghetti and meatballs. On to my 1985 and 1990s.

Holy moly. Incredible wine from the legendary DRC. While the 1985 was still tight, relatively astringent, and young, this was firing on all cylinders. Such a privilege to taste and enjoy.
